Workspace Setup
After your first sign-in, FORJ asks you to create a workspace — the container where all your strategies, data sources, alerts, and settings live.
Creating Your First Workspace
- After signing in for the first time, you'll see the Welcome screen.
- Enter a Workspace Name (e.g., "My Trading Strategies").
- Click Create Workspace.
You'll be redirected to the Strategy Dashboard, ready to start building.
Workspace names can be 1–32 characters and may include letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and underscores. You can change the name later in settings.
What Is a Workspace?
A workspace is your private environment on FORJ. Everything you build is scoped to a workspace:
- Strategies you design in SMITH
- Data sources you connect (TradingView, webhooks)
- Indicator configurations you define and assign to candle streams
- Trade plans, guards, and actions built in SMITH
- Alerts and alert subscriptions
- Backtests you run in CRUCIBLE
- Members you invite to collaborate
Creating Additional Workspaces
Depending on your plan, you may be able to create more than one workspace. To create a new workspace:
- Click the workspace name badge at the top of the dashboard.
- Select Create Workspace.
- Enter a name and confirm.
Each workspace is fully independent — strategies, data sources, and settings are not shared between workspaces.
Each plan sets a maximum number of workspaces you can own. If you've reached that limit, delete an existing workspace or upgrade your plan before creating another.
Inviting Users to a Workspace
You can invite other users to collaborate in your workspace:
- Open the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Workspaces, then choose the workspace you want to manage.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the user's email address and select a role.
Workspace Roles
| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control — manage members, billing, delete workspace. One owner per workspace. |
| Admin | Manage strategies, data sources, alerts, and members. Cannot delete the workspace or transfer ownership. |
| Editor | Create and edit strategies, data sources, and alerts. Cannot manage members. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to strategies, dashboards, and analytics. Cannot create or modify anything. |
Invited users receive an email with a link to join the workspace. If they don't have a FORJ account yet, signing up will automatically associate them with the workspace.
Switching Workspaces
If you have multiple workspaces, you can switch between them:
- Click the workspace name badge at the top of the dashboard.
- Select a different workspace from the list.
You can also access workspace management from the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar by selecting Workspaces.
